GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Police are looking for an armed trio after a home invasion in Gwinnett County.
Officers said three men broke into a home on Burns Road in Lilburn on November 3 and tied up a father during an armed robbery. His three children were inside the house at the time. And according to the incident report obtained by FOX 5, the victim said the men forced him to the ground, ransacked his house and made his children face a wall the entire time.
Corporal Michele Pihera with Gwinnett County Police told FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell the dangerous crew robbed the man of cash, jewelry, his car keys and parts of a gun.
"We don't know what their intention was in taking the magazines to the firearm and the rounds, but we certainly want to find those before they end up in the wrong hands," Pihera said.
The crime lasted about 20 minutes. The victim told officers one of his children had to get a kitchen knife to cut the shoelaces off his body once the robbers left.
"Anybody in this case would be terrified," Pihera told Mitchell. "Not only are they being victimized by someone entering their home, taking their possessions and threatening them, but when you have children involved, that's your number one priority."
