Police: Alabama fugitive captured in Atlanta

An Alabama fugitive crossed the state lines and ends up in handcuffs in Georgia.

The U.S. Marshals told AL.com they arrested 34-year-old Cornelius Williams in Atlanta last night.

According to Birmingham Police, Williams opened fire on officers as he fled the scene of a shooting.

He escaped, but investigators set up a massive search and said they eventually tracked him to Atlanta.

AL.com reported no officers were injured in the shooting, but Williams' father was shot and taken to the hospital.
