Lilburn Police urgently ask for help to find leads, after unknown perpetrators shot and killed a well-known local resident in the parking lot of a bowling alley.

Rahmier Gardner, 20, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the Sunday night shooting outside the Brunswick Zone bowling facility off Lawrenceville Highway.

Police said they do not have a motive for the murder. Gardner grew up in the Snellville area and was a 2016 graduate of Brookwood High School, having played on the baseball team.

Around 11:30 p.m. Sunday night, police said Gardner was playing a game with friends when he left his lane and friends noticed him missing during his turn to bowl.

"We suspect that he received a phone call and left the bowling alley, and went outside, unbeknownst to his friends, and met with a person or persons unknown, and some type of activity that ultimately resulted in him being shot," said Captain Scott Bennett.

Police said officers responding to 911 calls tried to revive him, but the man passed away at the scene.

Gardner was set to resume studies at Kennesaw State and study business, loved ones told FOX 5 News.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Lilburn Police. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS.
