The peeps have spoken! The Groundhog may have made his seasonal prediction for the last time.

Over the past few weeks, America was tasked with electing an official Spring Ambassador and 82% of the voters sided with the PEEPS® Chick while only 18% voted for the Groundhog.

This is the first time in 129 years that the Groundhog has been challenged, and ultimately unseated as the key predictor of the spring season.

On January 19, the PEEPS® Chick held a press conference at the headquarters of Just Born Quality Confections where it announced its candidacy to run against the Groundhog.  Through February 2, America had the opportunity to vote for the Spring Ambassador online on the PEEPS® Chick’s candidate website: www.marshmallowpeeps.com. Participants were able to view a countdown until spring, follow the campaign trail, see campaign videos and read fun campaign materials.

As each state elected a Spring Ambassador, an interactive map changed the colors to yellow or brown to represent what the candidate won. To no surprise, Pennsylvania was the only state that resulted in a tie.
