With all the rallies against racism and violence happening all over the country, the King Center along with a group of multi-racial pastors with the Better Together initiative held an event Thursday to speak out against the negativity.

Doctor Bernice King and Reggie Joiner hosted the event to denounce what organizers call the growing hatred, bigotry, and violence plaguing the nation right now.

The pastors who attended are part of the Better Together initiative, which is a statewide project by the King Center, focused on connecting pastors who want to heal the racial divide in the country.

For the past several months, the pastors said they have worked to build a coalition founded on mutual respect, understanding, and camaraderie.
