A lot of excitement surrounded Opening Day at SunTrust Park. Plenty of Braves fans turned opening day into an all-day event.

Tailgaters gathered to play games and enjoy food and beverages several hours before the first pitch.

“We've done it every time for the last ten years it should be a holiday for opening day,” says Stan Hauseman.

While many were concerned about traffic, it turned out not to be a problem for most people.

“I thought traffic was going to be crazy there's a hole in 85, you probably covered, but I took Uber and it was an easy ride,” says Seth Gaurney.

Even the shuttle buses from the parking lots seemed to be moving smoothly. In fact the most traffic seemed to be foot traffic over the pedestrian bridge.

That was a little more exhausting for Kaliann Lisk. The mom-to-be is one day past her due date and was hoping this trip to the ballpark would help things along.

“My mom has a reputation of going to baseball games and giving birth the day after, so it’s kind of like a lucky thing and we're hoping that that happens,” says Lisk.

A smooth and exciting start for Suntrust Park. Of course to top it off, the Braves beat the Padres 5 to 2.
