Officials: Woman arrested for Norcross hotel fire

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Authorities in Gwinnett County said they have made an arrest in a hotel fire in Norcross last month.

Fire officials said 21-year-old Shanel Velma Best intentionally lit a small pile of clothing on fire at the Congress Hotel and Suites.

Investigators have been searching for her for weeks.

She was booked into jail Tuesday on felony charges including first-degree arson and endangering a human life.
