The Georgia Office of Highway Safety is asking motorist traveling this busy Thanksgiving weekend to keep the number 1,357 in mind. That’s the number of people who have been killed on Georgia highways so far this year.

The holidays are some of the business travel days with AAA estimating about 1.3 million drivers will take the roads.

In response, GOHS reminds drivers and passengers to take road safety seriously.

One of the most important things you can do to stay safe on the road? Buckle up.

Georgia highway safety officials said more than half of Georgians killed in car accidents weren't wearing a seatbelt.
