Officials: Gun found in high-school student's bookbag
DANIELSVILLE, Ga. - A student is in custody after officials say they found a handgun in their bookbag.
Madison County School System Superintendent Allen McCannon said that officials received a tip from a student earlier Wednesday morning that another student at Madison County High School had a weapon in their bag.
After the searching the bag, officials found a handgun.
The student was turned over to law enforcement.
Officials say that the student had not threatened anyone or was involved in any earlier incidents and that was no current safety threat to the school.
