COWETA COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Emergency officials are on the scene of an ultralight aircraft which has crashed near an airfield in Coweta County.
It happened a little after 3 p.m. The aircraft ended up in the tree line near the Rolling Meadows Airfield near Sharpsburg, Georgia.
The FAA said the aircraft was an Apollo Aircraft Monsoon, which is a light sport aircraft.
Authorities said the pilot, only identified as a 47-year-old man, was taken by air ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center.
The FAA will be investigating.
