Teen arrested after threats lock down Newton County high school

- A Fulton County teen has been arrested after police say he made threats that lead to the lockdown of a high school in Newton County.

Officials say that 17-year-old Kishon Lee was charged with terroristic threats and acts, stalking, and disrupting public school after he made a threat to Newton County High School Monday morning.

The school was put on preventative lockdown after the Newton County Sheriff's Office and the school system deemed the threat credible. Parents were also alerted, officials said.

After an investigation, Lee was found and arrested, police say.

“We do not look at threats as pranks or adolescent activity,” Sheriff Brown said. “We always take any threats against our schools very serious which will result in serious consequences.”

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office has asked that anyone with information regarding the incident to please call them at (678) 625-5007.

 

 

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office began an aggressive investigation into the source of the threat. NCSO investigators worked quickly to identify the suspect. Mr. Lee was taken into custody and charged with the aforementioned offenses.
