Newton County deputies seek gas station burglars

Investigators hope surveillance images will help them identify two burglars who broke into a convenience store not once, but twice.

The crimes happened at the Pure gas station on Highway 11 in Social Circle June 27 and September 24.

"They're very brazen because they have hit the same store twice," said Newton County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Cortney Morrison.  "They do try to conceal their identity because they did believe that they were knocking out all of the cameras, however, as you can see in the video, they forgot a couple both times.  So we definitely need the public's help in identifying these subjects and the video is pretty clear, so we are hopeful that that will happen."

According to investigators, the pair stole cigarettes, lottery tickets, and lighters in both crimes.  They also drove U-Haul vehicles in both burglaries.

"I have no doubt that they would strike again.  If they struck twice in three months, I don't have any doubt that they would do it again, because they feel like they're invincible and above the law," said Sgt. Morrison.

Investigators ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS.
