FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - New and improved sidewalks are now open along Old National Highway in Fulton County.
The $4.3 million project allows for wider sidewalks that go along both sides of the road and stretch about two-and-a-half-miles from Flat Shoals Road to Sullivan Road.
There is now signage, handicap ramps, driveway improvements, and landscaping as well.
Developers said the project also included a complete restructuring of several parts of the road.
Another big addition is a video vehicle detection system.
Officials said it allows remote monitoring, which should help reduce traffic congestion in the area.
