New Jersey murder suspect believed to be in metro Atlanta

- The FBI is asking metro Atlanta residents to be on the lookout for a man who agents said fled from New Jersey to avoid prosecution on murder charges.

Dennis “Muhamad” Cunningham, 48, was charged by New Jersey with murder in connection with the May 24 death of 34-year-old Dino Bermudez. New Jersey Police Department said Bermudez was gunned down on a front porch. He was rushed to the hospital, but later died.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office said they received information this week that Cunningham could be in the metro Atlanta area. FBI agents said he has family in the Douglasville area and ties to Jessup, Georgia.

Cunningham is described by authorities as being 6’2” tall and weighing about 215 pounds.

In addition to the murder charges, the FBI has filed federal charges against Cunningham for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.

Anyone with information can anonymously leave a tip with Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477 and could be eligible for a reward.
