College Park Police are searching for the shooter who gunned down an aspiring hip-hop artist in cold blood inside the city limits.

Police in College Park said the body of 19-year-old Donte Miller was discovered behind a building in the Lakeside Reserve Apartments off Lakemont Drive just inside the western edge of the College Park city limits.

Detectives said Miller's birth certificate was located nearby. Officials said the young man had just been hired for a job at the airport. Friends said the musician was also on the verge of signing a recording contract. They believe he knew people and stayed with people at the apartments.

"A young man lost his life. He was trying to do something with his life," said Jaquan Howard, who discovered Miller's body along with his friends, as he held a birthday apartment at his home. Police said the body was found in Howard's backyard.

"Still very in shock-- on edge," Howard said.

Officers have no motive for the young man's death.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
