WASHINGTON, D.C. - People from around the world flocked to a live stream of an eagle's nest Saturday to witness the hatching of a new baby eaglet.
The video, which was streamed by the group the Earth Conservation Corps, was watched by hundreds.
This eagle's nest is located on the property of the D.C. Police Academy.
The little bird's parents, Liberty and Justice, have lived in a tree on the grounds for more than a decade.
"Welcome to the world, ECC3! Happy hatch-day!" the group said in a Facebook post sharing the hatching.
ECC3 is the temporary name for the bird, but the center has already decided what the real name of the baby will be – Spirit.
A second little eagle is expected to hatch soon, possibly even today!
