A magical moment during a pep rally in Lansing, Michigan is stealing the hearts of millions across the country.

Senior Vee Nguyen,19, asked her friend Ben Davis, 16, who has special needs and is confined to a wheelchair, if he would go to the prom with her. Davis was wheeled out to the gym floor where students held a large box with the message "I'll ask you to prom when pigs fly!” written across it. The students opened the box and out flew three pink “pig” balloons. Davis turned around to see Nguyen, and handed her a rose, while hundreds of classmates cheered.

What was Ben’s answer? You guessed it, he said “yes!”

“For those that wanted to take something so positive and turn it into negative, I want you to know that my friends and I worked hard on the promposal and had no idea we were going to get so much attention from the video, we didn't think much of it because it was a simple act of kindness that everyone should spread,” said Nguyen.

Nguyen's relationship with Davis kicked off at Davis' freshman orientation in 2014 while Nguyen was working with the school's Navigators program. The program supports and serves special needs students. “I met Ben Davis two years ago and ever since then we became really good friends. He is such a sweet person with a kind heart and it's an honor being able to ask him to prom,” said Nguyen.
