Teen carries brother on back for 111 miles in aid of cerebral palsy

STORYFUL- A 16-year-old from Temperance, Michigan, is teaching people how to stand up and fight for what you believe in by walking over 111 miles in less than a week to raise awareness of cerebral palsy.

Hunter Gandee walked 40 miles in 2014 and nearly 60 miles last year, while carrying his younger brother Braden, who was born with cerebral palsy, on his back.

This year, Hunter is walking 111 miles.

Hunter and Braden set off from Bedford High School in Temperance, Michigan, on April 20 and planned to walk all the way to the State Capital Building in Lansing, Michigan. Hunter set up a social media page for the walks called The Cerebral Palsy Swagger and the page has been updated throughout the journey, showing the brothers, and those joining in on the walk, being cheered as they reached the final rest stop of each day.

Excited to announce that THE Cerebral Palsy Swagger part 3 is on its way! We will be walking 111 MILES from Bedford High School to the steps of the State Capital Building in Lansing, Michigan from April 20-25. Along the way we will be stopping at 7 different high schools as well as walking through the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. This will be our 3rd and FINAL walk. We know that it's going to be a lot, almost TWICE as far as last year. Last year was no breeze either. This will be the most difficult thing I will ever do in my life. But we are going to be ready and prepared. Most of all, we believe this is what God wants us to do and that this is part of His plan. We know that He will be by our side every step of the way. We are so thankful for the opportunity to do another walk and we are thankful for everyones' SUPPORT which has CARRIED us to where we are today. We're also thankful for the grace of God and for how He has not only used us, but given us the abilities and opportunities to follow His plans. Thank you once again to everyone who has supported us, and I hope to see YOU walking along our route to Lansing! #CPSWAG
