Mom of 5 Gets Another Kind of Help in Doctor's Office

An Alabama mother of five received help from an unlikely source, in an unlikely place.

Last month, Melissa Simms and her son Trey were at a doctor's appointment. While there, she realized she didn't have enough money for her co-pay.

A woman in the waiting room overheard her situation and gave an envelope to Trey, telling him to give it to his mom.  The mother and son then left the doctor's office.

When Simms opened the envelope, she found a note that said “I’ve had days like you're having today-hang in there.” There was also a scripture reference to Joshua 1:9 and a $100 bill which could not have come at a better time for this family.

The mother of five said, “Me and my husband woke up, we split out last ten dollars, for gas for him to go to work and for me to make it to my doctor's appointment. All day I was stressed about how am I going to make supper for my kids, and after I received that generous offer, finally I was able to have my kids’ supper and get the things that we needed yesterday,  so thank you so much.”

The grateful mom wants to find the woman in the doctor’s office who helped her.  She’s hoping Facebook will help connect her to the good Samaritan who saved the day.
