The Georgia Aquarium hosted its first ever underwater wedding Sunday.

The bride and groom, Crystal Sheffield and Justin Reynolds, exchanged vows in the 6.3 million gallon Ocean Voyager Built by Home Depot among four whale sharks, four manta rays, and thousands of other marine animals. As the ceremony was performed, family and friends of the couple watched in the gallery through one of the world’s largest viewing windows.

The couple, avid divers, chose Georgia Aquarium as the location for their unique wedding ceremony after visiting the Aquarium and discovering that guests can dive with whale sharks and manta rays.

“We never thought we would get married in an aquarium, but it mixes our love for diving and for one another, it’s something we love doing together,” said Crystal Reynolds about why they chose to get married underwater.

In addition to their vows, the couple shared their first dance underwater. After returning to dry land, the new Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds were introduced to family, friends, and Aquarium guests in the atrium before heading to a private reception in the Oceans Ballroom.
