A dog named Anubis is getting a second chance at life after he was found in Cairo, Egypt with his nose cut off.

The dog was rescued by Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation and, through a series of donations and help from volunteers,, he was eventually taken to his new home in El Paso, Texas, in January.

SNARR believe Anubis’ nose may have been cut off when he alerted the property he was guarding to thieves.

The Facebook page Anubis The Egyptian Baladi was set up so those who had helped with his journey, and others interested in his story, could follow his progress.

From the updates, it certainly looks like Anubis has settled in.
