Dog rescued after falling down 40 foot open well

- Henry County Animal Care and Control went into action after getting a call that an older dog had fallen into an open well in the Ola area of Henry County.

Around 4 p.m. on Monday, officials say they got a call saying that a 10-year-old yellow Lab had fallen 35 to 40 feet down the narrow pipe. When they arrived at the scene, they found the dog desperately trying to keep her head above water.

Firefighters with the Henry County Fire Department sprung into action, pumping down oxygen for the lab until they were able to get her out.

The crew was able to rescue the scared dog and free her from the well a little after 7 p.m.
