In Sweden, cows are getting a taste of freedom. Flocking to local farms, residents attended the annual cow release event.

"Well, I came here because I wanted to celebrate the beginning of the summer and to see the cows come out from their winter houses," said one person attending the event.

Farmers let cow's run loose from their barns and stables. Some Swedes see it as a celebration of the arrival of summer, and some just simply want to get away from that busy city life.

"I live in the city and it's really nice to come out to the countryside and it's really not far away - it's just 10 minutes. So it's been fun to....well, celebrate the farmers and the cows," said another event attendee.

In recent years, milk farms are seeing a growing number of people attending the event. Last year, one farm had over one hundred sixty five people attending.
