Animal control officer, firefighters rescue pup

Firefighters and animal control officer teamed up to save the life of a puppy who had fallen down into a sewer pipe.

The DeKalb County Police said DeKalb Animal Services Officer Harper with assistance from Fire Station 14 was able to modify a catch pole to pull the pup up to safety.

Photos shared to FOX 5 News by police show just how deep the sewer pipe went.

The Yorkie pup was dried off, checked out and returned to its ecstatic owner.

The police department celebrated the animal control officer’s ingenuity tweeting “Way to go, Officer Harper!
