The youngest player in the history of Major League Baseball's American League received a home town honor.

Carl Scheib, 89, made his professional baseball debut at 16-years-old in 1943 in Philadelphia. He grew up in Gratz, Pennsylvania before his departure to the big leagues.

Scheib, who lives in Texas now, paid a visit to his hometown's community center for a signing and presentation for the biography on his life, titled "Wonder Boy."

The ball field Scheib played on during his youth was rededicated and named after him. It was an honor he said, amongst all his accomplishments, that means the most.
