GAINESVILLE, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Gainesville Police said the same crew of burglars targeted two ministries in one night, hauling off thousands of dollars of audio and video equipment.
Police said the theft happened sometime overnight possibly on March 14 at a business center off Shallowford Road, where several churches and ministries run independent fellowships.
The church El Faro Iglesia Pentacostes found their door busted in and more than $14,000 worth of equipment taken.
"I was crying, desperate. It's a church," said Pastor Ilias Paxtor. "When I see that, my heart was broken," he said. He and other members are now trying to fundraise to replace what was lost by holding car washes and garage sales.
The ministry Kingdom Harvest also had several thousand dollars’ worth of equipment taken, but police said most of it was dumped nearby and recovered.
No word if the thieves are connected to any other incidents. Anyone with information is asked to call Gainesville Police.
The Pentecostal church can be reached at 770-653-3574 for donations to replace what was stolen.
