Mattie's Call issued for missing 17-year-old Clayton County girl

- Police in Clayton County have issued a Mattie’s Call, Georgia’s emergency missing alert for disabled or elderly persons, for a missing 17-year-old girl.

Kaitlyn Newton was reported as a runaway. Clayton County Police said she was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and has expressed a desire to harm herself in the past. Police said she does not have her medication with her.

Police said she was last seen Monday around 6 p.m. leaving a home in the 400 block of Churchill Court in Jonesboro.

Newton is described by police as being 5’4” tall, weighing about 98 pounds, with black hair, and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, gray sweater and black leggings with gray sneakers.

Anyone who sees her is asked to call 911 immediately.
