Marietta police investigate DUI near elementary school

Marietta police are investigating a crash that left one man with life-threatening injuries early Tuesday morning.

Officers said 22-year-old Mickael Lemoine was driving on Merritt Road near Lockheed Elementary School around 1:30 a.m. when police said he left the roadway on a curve and went down an embankment. The car overturned and landed on its roof.

Officials said the man in the backseat suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

Lemoine was charged with DUI, driving too fast for conditions, and failure to maintain lane.
