Man honored for lifesaving efforts along Silver Comet Trail

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Cobb County firefighters honored a man who helped save another person in cardiac arrest along the Silver Comet Trail.

It happened back in April.

David Doke and his son Graham were biking along the Silver Comet Trail when they saw Timothy McElroy collapse ahead of them.

They quickly called 911 and the dispatcher walked them through how to start chest compressions and CPR.

After about 15 minutes, Doke said paramedics finally arrived and thankfully they were able to bring McElroy back around.

As part of Thursday's ceremony, Doke received a Citizen Lifesaving Award from Cobb County Fire and Emergency Services.
