Search for gunman after fatal motel shooting in DeKalb County

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Investigators are looking for a gunman after a fatal shooting in between two motels in DeKalb County, according to police.

Officers told FOX 5 News a man was found shot and killed in the parking lot between the Motel 6 and Super 8 on Chamblee Tucker Road shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday.

Some motel guests told FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell they heard several gunshots. The victim's loved ones said he was in his 20s.

Lt. Shane Stanfield said investigators believe the shooter drove away from the scene. But they're not releasing any descriptions until they get more information. Officers are interviewing the woman who was with the victim at the time of the shooting in an effort to figure out what happened, according to Lt. Stanfield.
