ATLANTA - A man was killed in a late night shooting in downtown Atlanta Monday.
Police said the victim was shot in the head on Porter Place, which connects Peachtree to West Peachtree. By the time rescue crews arrived, the man, described as in his 40's, was already dead. His name has yet to be released.
The victim's son ran to a nearby hotel looking for help. It was the son who ended up calling 911.
Detectives talked to the younger man but said he wasn't able to tell them what led up to the shooting. Investigators said they have no motive for the crime and no suspect description. Police planned on canvassing the area and talking to other witnesses hoping to answer those questions.
So far, police have not made any arrests, but officers tell FOX 5 they believe the victim knew his shooter.
