COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Austell Police arrested a man for allegedly opening fire outside a bar early Sunday morning.
Keith Duwayne Piotter, 48, is charged with aggravated assault in the incident that injured a 31-year-old woman in the parking lot of B3 Bar and Grill on Veterans Memorial Highway.
According to the Austell Police Department, a caller dialed 911 at around 3:21 a.m. to report shots fired.
"He was arrested within 60 seconds," said Carlos Bickers, who owns the restaurant. "I mean, we came around the corner, he still had the firearm and he was arrested immediately by Austell police officers."
Bickers said he had one off-duty police officer working security at the time and a second on-duty officer was also at the scene.
The victim, according to Bickers, was shot in the buttocks and the bullet traveled through her body before exiting her torso. He said family members reported that she underwent surgery Sunday and was in stable condition.
"I've been here for four years and we've never had any kind of problems," said Bickers. "It is very frustrating. We do a lot of charity work for the community and we just hope that, you know, our friend's OK first and foremost. That's our main concern. I've been friends with her a long time."
Bickers is not sure what could have lead up to the shooting.
Piotter is expected to make his first court appearance Monday morning.
