Man arrested for impersonating officer on radio

CANTON, Ga. - The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on charges that he impersonated a police officer.

Deputies recently heard someone talking on their radio, giving false information about calls for service, and using radio noise to interrupt normal radio traffic.

Investigators said they were able to identify the suspect as Jonathan Beavers, 29, of Canton.

Beavers also faces charges of obstruction of an officer.
