Long security lines, flight cancellations plague airport

Winter weather forced airlines to cancel many flights and Wednesday afternoon.

Officials with Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport warned travelers to arrive at least two hours early because of TSA screen lines backing up. There were limited agents available Wednesday because of the snow.

Travelers said security lines stretched through the main atrium of the airport. Officially, we're told wait times were about an hour, though some passengers took to social media to complain about much longer waits...

But that wasn't the only hiccup.

The boards inside the airport were lit up with cancellations.

According to Delta, the airport got one and a half inches of snow leading to the closure of some of the runways and the need for significant deicing of the planes there.

The Atlanta-based airline reported canceling 600 flights across the region because of weather.

Delta said things will continue to recover at the airport over the next few days.
