LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Police need help identifying several people accused of placing card skimming devices on automated teller machines in Lawrenceville and across metro Atlanta.
According to Lawrenceville Police, the suspects have been using the skimming devices at a number of spots over the past month, taking over $85,000 in customers' bank accounts.
"Citizens should be reminded about the potential for skimming devices on all point of sale purchase locations and ATM locations," Lawrenceville Police said in a news release Friday. "Regarding this case, the affected cardholder accounts have been identified and we, in conjunction with the bank, are in the process of gathering information in order to further the investigation once identification is made."
Police said based on surveillance footage, each case has involved the same group of people driving the same white vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call the Lawrenceville Police Department at 770-963-2443.
