LAPD buys new bike for teen after hers was stolen

It was a happy surprise for a teenage girl in California whose bicycle was stolen on her 14th birthday.

Officers of the Los Angeles Police Department came together, and bought her a brand new bike.

Police said someone stole the teen’s bike in late October after she rode it to a local store. She was shocked when she came out to the store and found it missing.

Officers heard about the theft and decided to pitch in to help her. They took up a collection after the crime.

So far, authorities have made no arrests in the theft.
