Lance Oyster Crackers recalled for undeclared peanut

Snyder’s-Lance has issued a recall for Lance Oyster Crackers that could be contaminated with peanut residue.

Though the company has not received any reports of illness or injury before issuing the recall, they believe some batches of crackers may have been made with contaminated flour.

The boxes of crackers with the following “use by” codes are under recall: 23 JUL 16, 30 JUL 16 and 13 AUG 16.

According to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, peanut allergies are one of the leading causes of fatal food allergic reactions.

For more information on the recall, contact the Snyder’s-Lance customer service department at (704) 557-8691 or (704) 557-8472.
