KSU kicks off week of activities honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
KENNESAW, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Kennesaw State University kicked off its week-long celebration honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his impact on the civil rights movement.
The activities started Thursday with a luncheon at the KSU Convocation Center and a keynote address by Mary Frances Early.
The now-retired educator has a number of amazing achievements but perhaps, most notably, she is the first African-American graduate from the University of Georgia.
Other activities held this week include community service events and a special reflection on Dr. King's legacy.
