Here in Georgia, the situation forced UGA Coach Kirby Smart to run and get to the chopper.

“Operation Sick ‘Em 2016” took to the sky Thursday morning. Smart posted a video of himself and Assistant Coach Mel Tucker making their way to stop number one to see Derek Brown. He is rumored to be leaning toward Auburn, but Smart is not giving up on the 6-foot, 4-inch, 320 pound lineman.

Smart snapped a picture with Lanier Head Coach Korey Mobbs around 9:40 a.m. The photo was shared on the Lanier High School Athletics Twitter page.

From there, it was on to Norcross High School. FOX 5 Sports was there as Smart and his team paid a visit to several Blue Devil players, including another lineman, Robert Field from the Class of 2017. If you are going to outwork the rest of the SEC coaches, you have to travel “Smart” and light.

They wasted no time, boarding the bird again, this time with SKYFOX 5 in hot pursuit. We hovered above Norcross Stadium with the Georgia coaches as they headed for their next touchdown.

Remember in December when Smart’s former boss, Nick Saban, paid a visit to several big time recruits at McEachern High School. You can bet Kirby Smart remembers. So, his final landing spot on Thursday was in Powder Springs.

Highly regarded lineman Julian Rochester already committed to the Dogs, but Smart has other targets at McEachern including wide receiver Tyler Simmons, the ‘Bama commit who was seen a month earlier standing next to a different helicopter with Nick Saban.

After his helicopter tour, Smart kept busy, holding a coaches clinic for the Touchdown Club of Atlanta.
