Kids help nab burglar while home alone, police say

Hapeville Police are recognizing two brave kids for their quick thinking in helping officers catch a burglar.

Thirteen-year-old Oscar and 11-year-old Vivian Lieu were home alone when they heard someone trying to break in, police say.

The kids texted their parents, who then called 911.

When officers got to the house, they say the kids ran out to meet them. The suspect was caught in the back of the house after trying to flee, officials said.

The officers delivered a recognition letter to Oscar and Vivian to acknowledge their bravery and fast action during a scary situation.
