ATHENS, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A body has been pulled from the Oconee River in Athens after kayakers discovered it Saturday afternoon.
Police tell FOX 5 the kayakers were in the Middle Oconee River near St. George Drive when they spotted the body int he water.
Investigators sent the body to the GBI crime lab.
So far, they have not released any information about the person.
Right now, police say they don't expect foul play and they hope an autopsy will provide more information.
