Happy International Bacon Day... Again!

- It is a holiday that is so big and so unofficial that it is celebrated on two days. Wednesday is International Bacon Day... again!

No, we're not talking about a day celebrating Rick "Bacon" Ross, the pig that fell into an Atlanta manhole earlier this month.

International Bacon Day or just Bacon Day is celebrated both on the Saturday before Labor Day and on Dec. 30. But if you are true fan of the pork product, you might just celebrate it every day.

Bacon sales have climbed since 2011 making it a nearly $4 billion industry in the United States alone.

Some Americans even support making the tasty strips their national food. This young child just might be among them!

Many people believe that bacon makes anything taste better. An Atlanta chef even believes it will help people eat their Brussels sprouts. It is used in everything from Macaroni Carbonara to a simple mac and cheese. And one Atlanta chef has created a Bacon Explosion of their own. Even FOX 5's Buck Lanford enjoys a good burger with bacon as noted in several of his Burgers With Buck segments.

We could go into the debate on if it is healthy or not, cured versus uncured, or if turkey bacon should even have the "bacon" moniker, but we won't. Instead, we will post some pictures of the delicious dishes and products that celebrate the meat.

And let us know your thoughts on bacon: Do you have a bacon recipe? A favorite bacon product? A place that makes the best bacon? Got pictures of bacon? Share them with us at Facebook.com/FOX5Atlanta, tweet us at @FOX5Atlanta, or tag us on Instagram at @FOX5Atlanta.
