Two Georgia firefighters were faced with a terrifying situation after they fell through the floor of a house while attempting to extinguish hot spots inside a home.

Hall County Fire Services say fire teams responded to a home fire on the 4600 of Swimming Canoe Trail around 10 p.m. on Sunday.

When they arrived at the home, crews say the attic was in flames.

The crew was able to control the fire and get most of it extinguished, allowing firefighters to get in to try to handle any hot spots.

During that time, 22-year-old Hiawassee resident Evan Keyes and 48-year-old Lt. Richie Grimes fell through the floor.

Keyes was injured in the fall and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center to be evaluated. He has since been released. Grimes was luckily not injured.

Officials say the fire has displaced two adults and two juveniles.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
