Gun rights supporters to rally at Gold Dome Saturday

ATLANTA - There is a call to arms for supporters of the Second Amendment. Organizers are encouraging gun rights supporters to bring unloaded rifles to rallies at state capitols across the United States this weekend including here in Georgia.

It's an effort to counter a recent wave of student-led protests against gun violence.

A group called the National Constitutional Coalition of Patriotic Americans has spread the word of the gatherings on social media.

One is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday outside the Georgia State Capitol.

The coalition's co-founder said organizers have permits for rallies Saturday in 45 states.
