GSP trooper resigns after DUI arrest

A Georgia State Patrol trooper resigned after he was arrested on DUI charges outside a Griffin home.

Back in July, then-trooper Christopher McEntyre was driving on Searcy Avenue when his truck got stuck on some train tracks.

Officials said he stumbled to a nearby home wearing just one shoe.

The homeowner reportedly found McEntyre trying to break into one of his cars.

Investigators said McEntyre was off duty at the time.

He had been with the GSP since 2006.
