Government offices to close early Monday afternoon

State and local governments are putting their money where their mouths are when it comes to the advice they are giving to residents ahead of the National Championship on Monday.

Gov. Nathan Deal announced Thursday afternoon that all state and local government offices in Atlanta and Fulton County will close Monday afternoon.

Atlanta office will close at 2:30 p.m. while Fulton County and state agencies will lock their doors at 3 p.m.

In addition, the government departments and agencies are encouraging telecommuting on Monday and for employees as well as visitors to use MARTA if they have to visit a government office.

The governor’s office cited both the National Championship and the weather system expected move through Atlanta on Monday.
