A Georgia judge recused himself on Monday, officials said.

Judge J. P. Boulee was supposed to hear a trial, but since he has been nominated for a federal judgeship, the court said that he decided to reassign to a different judge.

Officials said the trial was a 2015 case where Officer Robert Olsen is accused of shooting and killing Air Force Veteran Anthony Hill.

The case was set to be heard on February 25.

In a statement through their attorney, the family of Anthony Hill said the judge's recusal was "just a bump in the road."

"We are confident that a new judge will be found in a timely fashion and the trial will take place as scheduled," the statement read. "This family has waited nearly four years for Anthony's killer to be brought to justice."
