Georgia first lady Sandra Deal will meet with residents who evacuated ahead of Hurricane Matthew along with emergency personnel in Macon and Augusta on Sunday.

First lady Deal is scheduled to visit Trinity On The Hill at 10:15 a.m. in Augusta, and then the East Macon Recreation Center at 12 p.m. in Macon.

More than 280,000 homes and businesses still remain without power in coastal Georgia as state officials are focusing on restoring efforts after punishing winds and rains from Hurricane Matthew toppled trees and caused flooding.
