Funeral service for Ga. sailor killed in Chattanooga

Family and friends will come together Tuesday to honor a Georgia sailor who was killed in the Chattanooga shootings. 

Services for Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith will take place Tuesday afternoon at First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe. 

The 24-year-old was the first soldier shot in the center, but died almost two days after the attack.

He lived in Rosville, just across the state line from Chattanooga, with his wife and three daughters.

Smith's neighbors are displaying black ribbons on their doors to honor his memory and all over the city he called home, flags are flying at half-staff.

Visitation for Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Smith will be held July 28th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral services will follow the same day at 2 p.m. Both will be held at the First Baptist Church of Fort Oglethorpe located at 2645 Lafayette Road in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He will be laid to final rest the Chattanooga National Cemetery located at 1200 Bailey Avenue in Chattanooga, Tennessee following the funeral.
