Fulton County Police: 14-year-old girl shot in back

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - A 14-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital after a shooting in Fulton County Thursday night.

The shooting happened in the 6200 block of Topaz Trail just after 8 p.m. Thursday. Fulton County Police said a 14-year-old shot to the back and rushed to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. She is expected to survive her injuries.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting were not immediately available, but police were looking into the possibility this was a drive-by shooting.

Several dozen forensics markers, typically used in a crime scene investigation to mark bullets or shell casings, could be seen in the grass next to a white Infinity.

Police have not yet released any suspect information.
